Services:
- Representation of temporary protection visa holders in claiming further protection
- Representation in the lodgement of onshore protection visa applications (ie where a person has entered Australia on another form of visa and seeks to lodge a protection visa application)
- Assistance to victims of domestic violence who are on temporary spouse visas
- Any other migration work where exceptional humanitarian issues are raised
- Assistance to current and former protection and humanitarian visa holders with family reunions
- Assistance to humanitarian and protection visa holder with citizenship applications
- Immigration assistance to women where trafficking in women is an issue.
- Referral of protection and humanitarian visa holders to appropriate agencies for general legal assistance (eg with criminal, credit tenancy and other issues)
- Information sessions for clients
Referral Criteria:
- Temporary protection visa (TPV) holders
- Temporary spouse visa holders
- Current and former permanent protection visa holders and humanitarian visa holders
- Women in Australia who are the victims of trafficking in women
- Any case where the person claims humanitarian reasons for seeking to stay in Australia
- CASE is also an IAAAS provider.
Geographic Region:
- State-wide application utilising telephone/video link up however provide face to face appointments at Perth office
- CASE for Refugees is an incorporated CLC whose management committee are representative of the legal community
