Each year, WACOSS prepares a report which looks at the ability of low income households in WA to achieve a basic standard of living. The report models 3 households- single parent family, working family and unemployed single. It identified that in WA there are currently 240,000 people living below the poverty line with a further 150,000 at risk of financial hardship. The report includes recommendations for both federal and state government level action – and this year included reference to the need for increased funding for community legal centres.
